Child labour in India is a human right issue for the whole world. Many children below the age of 14 are working in carpet making factories, fireworks factory and glass blowing units and this exploitation of little children for labour is an accepted practice especially in Northern India and is considered as a necessity to remove poverty. This practice should be put to an end immediately. There are around 50 million child laborers in India. Some causes of child labour are poverty, parental illiteracy, lack of education, social apathy etc.
Adult unemployment and urbanisation also causes child labour.Adults find it difficult to find jobs because factory owners find it more beneficial to employ children at cheap rates. In spite of child labour laws,it still prevails which is a matter of concern for legal machinery. |
